Parvati desires that Vinayak be given life again, so Shiv fits an elephant head on Vinayak’s torso and blesses him with life again. Vinayak gets up but this time he was different. He had wisdom and was well connected with his truth. He had his head replaced with head of a long living animal – elephant. Elephant is long living with sharp memory, they are emotional beings and lives in family and as a result he gets these qualities imbibed. He accepts everything. As there is no ego so his acceptance is total. Ego is a problem of our world, animals are free from this false perception of the self. They live with instinct.  Ego creates a false world of our thoughts or imagery and keeps us away from our truth.  As he becomes Ganapati, the ego gets transformed into Budhi. Ubtan after cleaning Devi contained her bodily wastes like dead skin cells, dirt, etc. and hence had acquired some associated negativities also. Vinayak had all the qualities of her mother but also had the negativities as he was carved from the used ubtan.  He was very powerful as the Karmkhand had the strength from Jagatjanani Jagdamba or Devi Adya Shakti but as the negative energy accumulated and risen to his head gave him false perception about himself. Devi Parvati after cleaning her body wanted to have bath and entered a cave but before proceeding for bath she ordered Vinayak to guard that cave and asked him not to allow any one inside. In the mean while Shiv comes to meet Parvati and tries to enter the cave but Ganpati stopped from meeting her. It’s a great trouble Shiv the Gyankhand of our body and Shakti the Karmkhand of our body are not able to meet if Vinayak is there, the coordination suffers.  It’s a regular trouble faced by all of us....

Ganesh Chaturthi marks the start of a period of celebrations with Ganapati pujan. This year it started from September 5, generally devoted persons bring Ganapati idols to their home and celebrate this season of festivity.
