Secrets of Mahamrityunjaya mantra – A divine path Part 4

Sati recited this powerful mantra for moon in the presence of Rudra till he was pleased. Shiv on pleasing reversed the process caused due to curse of Daksha and moon started reviving. This process is still continuing Moon faces the curse of Daksha for fifteen days and then blessings of Sati and Shiv reverses the process that brings him back to full Moon state.

This story gives great insights. Rudra becomes Shiv on getting pleased and getting angry Shiv turns Rudra. This cycle continues and energy keeps circulating. Rudra cooled and became Shiv as he got over joyous due to pleasing by Sati. This resulted into creation of nectar. Shiv started bathing in this blissful nectar and nectar started overflowing. It started dripping from the pool of nectar at the top of the head in crown. This nectar after drenching both of them at Agya started flowing downward into medulla – the seat of Prajapati. Nectar enters the spine and passes through all the doors removing their negativity, blockages and making them lively and vibrant. This raises the awareness in the respective parts of the body and brought life back by removing all diseases or imbalances.
This story clearly enlightens us the way Mahamrityunjaya oscillations brings life back into almost finished Moon.

The Shiv form of Mahamrityunjaya is Triyambak. Triyumbak is a Sanskrit word that refers to someone with three eyes. The prayer to Triyambaka – three eyed Rudra or Shiv is referred in Rig Veda (RV 7.59.12) and in Yajurveda.

Rishi Markandey found out the technique to use Triyambak prayer. There are different types of variations with Triyumbak that are experienced basis the flow, directions, rotations of energy and are seen in the way mantra is constructed using different seeds. These are referred as Triyumbak, Mrityunjaya, Mahamrityunjaya, Mritasanjivani, Amrita Mrityunjaya, etc. These are all various techniques around Vedic Tryambaka from the Rudra.

Mrityunjaya is a Sanskrit word that means winning over the death. This needs some understanding - Mrityunjay is a state like Kaaljayi.

The Shiva Mahapurana, Vidyesvara-samhita, chapter 25 shlokas 89 and 90 highlights that Shiv himself explains the greatness of the Bhasma and Rudraksha to Devi Parvati. A feeling of satisfaction was reflecting in our eyes. It was a feeling of accomplishing, getting something that we were looking for all these years.
