Mahakaal - Secrets of Panchakshri Sadhna - Part III
Panchakshri Mantra oscillates in our body with each breath and gives us life. A sadhak could realise spandan of this mantra in their body, provided he is completely still. These spandan or vibrations are realised at different centres in the body which are called chakras. These spandan have different frequencies corresponding to five elements, hence realised at the centres of these elements.
Yoga has detailed six chakras as centres of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Sky and time. Each chakra is dominated by an element and have vibrations of the frequencies of that element. These vibrations produce sound of sanskrit words. This way each chakra is home of an element. When corresponding identification words of these elements are beaded together, we get Panchakshri.
The best way to notice Panchakshri is in meditation. The flow of cosmic life force starts from the head with a universal vibration called Om ….. Om is taar and the starting point.. the first vibration that caused all this creation.
The flow from head falls into the neck, where Vishudhi chakra is located. Sky is the element of this chakra. Sky in sanskrit is expressed as Nabho. This flow then further goes down to heart where Anahat is located. This is Chakra of Air element. Air in sanskrit is termed as Maarut. One of the Gods in Hindu religion is Hanuman. He is termed as Maruti nandan; which means son of air. Ramayan has lots of stories to tell about Hanuman - the great Ram Bhakt.
This flow now continues and falls into Manipur or Nabhi Chakra, This Chakra is place of Fire element. Digestion system is managed by the fire and gives us energy. In sanskrit Fire is termed as Shikhi. Similarly, the flow continues through the lower two chakras that are dominated by water and earth.
After a small pause, I started again and asked her to check on the first word of all these elements, like Na from Nabho, Ma from Maarut, Va for Varun, etc.
She looked at me very differently. Her eyes were shining with pleasure and surprise.
I asked her to now keep the sequence of the flow of life force to follow for putting these seeds together.
After a small pause, I said - when we put these seeds together, see what happens – Om Na Ma Shi Va E…. Does it rhymes like Panchakshri Mantra. It does… so this way we get our Om Namo Shivae – the great Panchakshri Mantra.
It’s the simple route of relaxing and getting realized. The creation is the natural process and hence with Panchakshri, we direct this natural process to get enlightened, which happens naturally without any efforts.
Her eyes were sparkling, as if she had found something of her interest. I was glad that she did. She was seem to be very curious now. It was about 3 AM, another hour to go for Bhasm Aarti in the sanctum sanctorum.
Adding to this I said, Om activates the Central Nervous System and then rest of the seeds passes through the spinal column - activating our reflex system. This way whole of Nervous system gets activated and we reach the highest level of consciousness - Chetna.
This Chetna is the differentiating characteristic of Humans from animals. It gives us freedom of desire (Ichcha).
She found it interesting and was ready with her next round of questions... One - tell me, How this mantra is connected to any Jyotirlinga? Second - How could we experience Panchakshri in our body, what could be the way to experience the Abhishekam?
Jyotirlinga, Swayambhu are ..................... (contd in Part - IV)
