Shiv Ratri to Nav Ratri - internal resonance

We visited Rudraprayag some time back. In fact my wife's friend is living there. Rudraprayag is a wonderful place with lots of greenery and with the Sangam of river Mandakini and Alaknanda."Sangam" is a Sanskrit word meaning union. These two are very powerful river streams and they combine to form a further larger stream. Therefore, its called a Prayag - Sangam or Union. Rudra is the fire that assimilates everything in itself. Fire is the one that purifies. Simple example is Gold becomes gold only after its processed by fire. Fire has multiple functions and in Tantra its described in detail. It has 10 characteristics, these are referred to as ten Kalas of fire. Agni Puran describes fire in detail. 

Rudraprayag is an important halt in travelling to evolved religious places like Kedarnath and Badrinath. The roads split in two directions. If you travel along Alaknanda, you will reach Badrinath and if you travel along Mandakini, you will reach Kedarnath. 

Rudraprayag has spiritual significance. Devrishi Narad got his Veena from Shiv ji  at this place. He carries it with him. In all, Rudra Prayag is a very important destination but hardly known for its spiritual significance to even localites.

 

This visit was important for us also as many secrets got unfolded here. Meditating to be still and leaving the mental energy to move freely, brings lots of spiritual experiences and understanding. 

It was the time when rains just started and the weather was very pleasant. We were in a house that was on the side of Alaknanda. Cool breeze, music of river and total inner silence is what makes it a great spot.

It was in the evening when we all sat together for snacks. Friends husband was to come by that time, but was delayed. We waited for him to join us. He came slightly late and fully drenched as it was pouring that time. he changed and then came to the living room. 

Sorry, i am late but in hills it could rain any moment. 

Its Ok, I said.

He said, "don't know why so much rains here. Why can't these be limited or stopped. It creates so much of issue in living in this area." He continued his problems with rains, this season until he finished his tea. 

We were through with the snacks but don't know why he was still stuck to the same topic. He said, I don't know it all starts around Shravan month and then continues like this. Be it Shiv ratri or Navratri. 

His wife said, its OK, we could discuss something else now.

I interferred as I could notice that there is some purpose in this dragging of the issue with this season. To me period from Shiv ratri to Nav ratri is very auspicious. one coould experience it internally also. 

I told his husband that he will require some help to open certain channels and then he will be able to experience the bliss, compassion of mother nature in  it. 

He said, I am done if you could do that.

We decided night time for this but then his wife was curious.

She said, you could do it later but I am curious to know what is so important in this Shiv ratri to Navratri chakra? I could sense with the discussion that it has some very important relevance in our life, What is it?

My wife suggested that we could discuss it the next day.

There is ample time till dinner, we could discuss it till then, she said.

I said its alright. If I have understood right you wish to discuss about period from Shiv ratri to Navratri and its significance in our inner world.
