We know Shiv as God but what does Ratri means? she asked.
In Tantra, its very clear and a Sadhak knows that Day is Shiv and Night or Ratri is Devi. Devi is worshipped with various names, like Ratri, Nisha and others.
Then what is this meeting of flow with ratri? she questioned.
Its the state where down fall of cosmic energy through spine hits the ground. Some of this energy gets grounded and some part starts rising back. This rising energy is Shakti. This state of transition is referred to as Sandhya in Sanskrit. This is the state where Shiv and Shakti are in complete harmony, a dynamic balance. Its transition time and suggested for stilling the body and observing inside us.
This act is sometimes referred to as Sandhya Puja.
This state is transition from Shiv or Nirgun state to Goddess or Sagun state. Ratri starts taking over after Shivratri.
It starts with rise in the counciousness with Goddess till Janmashtami (Birth celebrations of Shri Krishna) comes as Devi is fully realised in third eye or Agya Chakra. Upasak at advanced stage in Yoga or Tantra would have known the secrets of Mundmala and it explains how from Agya one reaches the root chakra but let me just restricts with the topic.
The Devi Chakra kick starts from third eye chakra and one reaches root, Mooladhar Chakra. Root Chakra is the seat of Ganpati. Therefore, it results in start of Ganpati days celebrations.
Great! now I understand Ganpati days are followed after Janmashtami and they are naturally coming after that otherwise I always wondered that why can;t we celebrate Ganpati days after Shravan, she was commenting happily.
Her husband was also bubbling with energy and shared, I believe that our Rishis, sages would have caught signals of the energy movements in the Universe and the human body during this time of the year and would have created discipline of festivities, celebrations to allign us with universal changes so that we could get maximum advantage of this self unfolding process.
